February 28 through March 4, 2005
Linda L. Fraley, Clermont County Auditor is pleased to announce that February 28 - March 4, 2005 is National Weights and Measures Week, time set aside to focus on the often overlooked, little known, yet vitally important function of state and local weights and measures programs.
For over two hundred years laws governing the weighing and measuring of products and services have been enforced to ensure a "fair and equitable" marketplace.
Weights and Measures inspectors in Clermont County use official standards of mass, length, and volume, along with highly accurate weighing and measuring devices to inspect and certify all types of packaged commodities and commercial weighing and measuring devices. These devices include checkout and deli counter scales, gas station dispensers, and timing devices. Inspectors also check packages for proper pricing, labeling, and method of sale.
To find out more about how Clermont County Weights and Measures officials help you to protect your shrinking dollar and assure integrity in the marketplace, take the opportunity during Weights and Measures week to examine how the program works, you just might be surprised by what you find.
